During the 3-day trial the store is private and password protected. To sell you must pick a paid plan and connect a payment provider. If you do not choose a plan the store is paused, not deleted, so you can come back later. The trial is for building, not for selling.
The plan is only the start. Most Indian stores add apps for cash on delivery confirmation, GST invoices, shipping and WhatsApp, which commonly add ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 a month. On the Basic plan payments through Razorpay or another Indian gateway carry an extra 2% fee from Shopify on top of the gateway's own charge.
